The Hans Belay Trophy
(Presented for the swim of the Year)

Awarded to Miss Dee llewellyn

(FOR THE 2007 SEASON )

Dee is always looking for a new challenge and this year succeeded by completing a very unusual swim. The River Tay is a mile wide at its esturary where it joins the North Sea. Dee, ably assisted by Greta Gall acting as her pilot, set out to see how manycontinuous crossings of the estuary she could complete in 6 hours. The record of 7 crossings had previously been set by Robert Saunderson in 1992. The Tay currents are very strong due to the 22 miles of tidal river above broughty ferry.

Dee set a new record by completing 10 crossings in 5 hours 4 mins and 34 secs. In recognition of the cold water and challenging conditions encountered during the swim, Dee is awarded the Swim of the Year Trophy.
