The Championships with a purple background colour are organised by the B.L.D.S.A. all other championships are organised by other clubs.

NOTE: BLDSA Novice events are open to non-members from 10 years of age upwards.

If any swim secretaries are reading this who have not already let me know the date of their event please email me or telephone with the relevant information or any corrections. Please include the closing date for entries and confirm if the event is to be run under B.L.D.S.A. rules.
PLEASE NOTE CLOSING DATES CAN BE UP TO 1 MONTH PRIOR TO DATE OF SWIM.
A SAE should be enclosed with all applications for entry forms.
Breaststroke swimmers must wear a pink cap. Freestyle swimmers must not wear pink caps.
B.L.D.S.A. membership number must be quoted on all entry forms for B.L.D.S.A. Championships, all of which will be run under B.L.D.S.A. rules. If an Affiliated Club Championship is run under B.L.D.S.A. rules then any person can take part whether they are B.L.D.S.A. members or indeed members of any other organisation (this is at the descretion of the organising club).
It is the swimmer’s responsibility to provide suitably qualified boat-crew to accompany them where required.
All swimmers are reminded that safety equipment as required in the Championship rules will in future be checked physically at the briefing meeting. Failure to comply with the requirements will mean the swimmer can be disqualified from the Championship.
Please note events run by Clubs unaffiliated to the BLDSA may not be run under BLDSA Championship Rules.

*June 27th*	SEAHORSE SWIM, East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club are organising an open water swim across Studland Bay, near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset, in conjunction with the National Trust and in support of the Studland Seagrass & Seahorse study group. The swim will be held in affiliation with the BLDSA, although wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors can enter. Start: from Knoll Beach, Studland peninsula. Distance: 3.8km. Registration: from 8.00am. July *3rd and 4th*	The BLUE Mile is a mass-participation, open water sports event designed to engage people actively with our blue environment. The event aims to encourage people to take part by completing a BLUE Mile either 'In' (Swim), (paddle/Sail), (Walk/Run) The inaugural BLUE Mile event will take place in Plymouth Sound/West Hoe Park, Plymouth, Devon over the first weekend in July 2010 (Saturday 03rd and Sunday 04th of July 2010). Although this is a multi-sport event, the focus is on the BLUE Mile, one mile swim and therefore, I am writing to see if you would be willing to add our event to your 2010 www.thebluemile.org.
